Yoga stops traffick (YST) is a one-day global yoga event created to raise awareness of and funding for the anti-trafficking organisation Odanadi Seva Trust based in Mysore.
Every year in March yoga schools all across the globe unite in doing 108 sun salutations in support of Odanadi. This year the global YST event takes place on 14th of March, but at Ashtanga Yoga Malmö will do the sun salutations a couple of weeks later on Sunday 28th March coinciding with the full moon.
By participating you will be helping to spread awareness about the serious, rapidly escalating exploitation of women and children worldwide, including in India. You help raise funds to support Odanadi’s crucial work in the field of prevention, rescue and rehabilitation of women and children in Karnataka state, India.
Sara Alenius will lead participants through 108 sun salutation A; which takes roughly 50 minutes. To participate you aren’t required to do all the 108 salutes, you only do as many as you want/can. Why not team up with a partner and do half/half or bring your family and do it as a team?
The class is free of charge but participants are encouraged to make a financial contribution of choice. All donations will proceed directly to Odanadi. It’s also possible to make a contribution separately should you not be able to/want to participate in the event. All donations are accepted in the form of cash payment. Please register for class through our partner Medborgarskolan (click the link) so that we know how many of you are joining. The event will also be broadcast via Zoom.
