“FRIDAY-FUN”: Introduction to the Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga
Friday, October 23, 2020 Cost: 175SEK
17:00 - 19:00
One Friday every month, Ashtanga Yoga Malmö organises a special after-work class called Friday-fun. Here we explore asanas in a playful and fun way and practice in a different way than in the Mysore room. Each class has a special theme; and this month we focus on Nadi Shodana –the second series of Ashtanga Yoga (Intermediate Series).
The class gives an introduction the Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga. We look at the various components of the series with blocks of asanas such as backbends, “hip openers”, arm balances and inversions. After a “warm-up” where the participants are guided through sun salutations and standing postures, we go explore the traditional “count” and the thread of asanas and how to approach them.
The workshop requires participants to have a regular yoga practice (not beginners) in Ashtanga yoga. Most importantly, participants should be comfortable and proficient with the entire Primary Series and already practice some of the first asanas of the Intermediate series. Stability in headstand is also required.
The number of places is limited; pre-registration is required and is done via our partner Medborgarskolan (click the link). The class is taught by Isabella Nitschke, Authorised Ashtanga Yoga Teacher (Level II) by Sharath Jois, Mysore, India. Read more about Isabella on our teacher’s page www.ashtangayogamalmo.se/en/larare
