In March 2020 we launch this 8 week course in yin yoga and meditation with Miho Hellén-Halme. Yin yoga ca be a good complement to other physical activities such as running and other more dynamic yoga styles and is great if you feel particularly stiff.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced, calm style of yoga where you take time to explore the sensations in your own body. You stay in simple seated or lying postures for a long time (2-3 minutes to begin with, 5-10 minutes when you have more experience), turn your attention inward and scan your own body to see if there is any tension, while trying to relax using your breath. Thus you can stimulate and stretch the connective tissues which keep all the muscles and organs together in the whole body, while at the same time you can cultivate tranquility and awareness. The important thing is not what the postures look like, but rather how you let your body be and to stay focused on inner sensations. Each class is ended with a 10 – 15 minute guided meditation. All levels are welcome regardless of previous experience.
The course runs on Wednesdays at 19-20:00 starting on 4 March for a total of 8 weeks with a break during the Easter holidays on 8/4. Registration and payment are done via our partner Medborgarskolan Syd (click on the link)
