YOGA for (stiff) MEN – beginners’ course

Are you a guy who feels you have particularly tight muscles? Do you have back pain, tight hips and shoulders and you’ve been recommended yoga but have been hesitant to try. Then this course is for you!

This course is specifically designed for men with tight muscles either due to a very sedentary life style or as a result of hard training or manual labour.  We put special attention to large muscle groups such as hamstrings, glutes, hipflexors, the shoulder girdle and the core. As a foundation we use the system of Ashtanga yoga, a dynamic form of yoga that promotes balance between strength and flexibility. Each session will include breathing exercises, physical yoga postures and relaxation at the end.

The course has a holistic perspective with the aim of giving attention to the whole body, both physically and mentally. You become more flexible, balanced will develop greater body awareness and an increased ability to focus.

The course is taught by Isabella Nitschke, authorized Ashtanga teach by Sharath Jois  in Mysore, India (assistant teacher Sara Björs). It runs for 10 sessions starting on Wednesday 11 September at 17.15 (we take a break during the sutumn holidays).

The course is run in cooperation with K-Yoga/Medborgarskolan. Pre-registration for the course is required and is done via K-Yoga/Medborgarskolan (click the link to register). Please note that we have an age limit of 16 and where people younger than 18 need parental approval.
