Friday-fun: transitions, jumps and arm balance technique

Friday-fun is our alternative monthly after-work special class. We gather to explore asana, play and have fun in a different format than Ashtanga yoga Mysore style. Each month the class has a different theme and this class focuses mainly on the jumps used in the transitions between asanas in the Ashtanga yoga series.
Regular practice of the Ashtanga Primary and Intermediate series helps us to become stronger and more flexible over time, but this takes time and requires a lot of patience. Learning a good technique from the start facilitates your practice and prevents injury.
During this class you will have the opportunity to play with and explore different movements and jumps. We look at a number of techniques to find strength and control while we learn to remain soft. You will learn the basics of the different transitions done between asans in Ashtanga yoga and get special advice for arm balances and handstands. We alternate working in pairs and using the wall.
The class is open to all levels but is not suitable for complete beginners. Participants are asked to come with an open and playful mind!
The class is taught by Hanna Mjöberg, authorised Ashtanga Yoga teacher (II) by Sharath Jois in Mysore.
